ABOUT THE PROJECT

About the Thinking Otherwise project

This project, which runs from January 2019 to July 2021 (including a 6 month extension, owing to Covid-19 pandemic) is another Erasmus + KA2 strategic partnership project, which builds on the success of the In Others' Shoes project.  Working with some of the previous partners (Germany, Slovenia, Turkey & Estonia), the project aims to further-develop teacher skills in critical literacy and peer education and a new teacher resource,  as well as resources “by young people, for young people” on developing critical thinking skills,  identifying and responding to manipulative messages in social media, will be created.

Project activities will include:
  • Peer education programmes in 4 countries
  • 20 pupil led learning activities e.g. school assemblies, circle time, tutor group sessions
  • 8 community education events – led by peer educators e.g. film screenings, cultural events
  • 400 members of wider school community (students, parents etc) becoming informed and engaged through activities promoting tolerance, freedom, non-discrimination
