The Thinking Otherwise project brings together some of the European educators who have previously worked on the In Others' Shoes project and will:
- Continue to share and develop teaching approaches promoting intercultural understanding, critical thinking, critical literacy, media literacy, empathy and student leadership skills
- Build teacher confidence in tackling controversial issues, especially relating to on-line radicalisation of young people
- Continue to provide opportunities to improve students' global skills such as creativity, critical thinking, empathy, communication and problem solving skills
- Help students to develop resilience towards simplistic or extremist narratives through social media
- Enable personal and social development of young people through peer education/student leadership
- Further develop school partnerships and student activities that challenge stereotypes and perceptions in our communities
- Develop resources “by young people, for young people” on developing critical thinking skills, identifying and responding to manipulative messages in social media and online
