Students fill out the questionnaire privately and anonymously - on paper or online - and submit.
Step 2 - What Next?
Discussion of the results in class:
- Pupils predict usage results for each app or service detailed on the survey- the teacher fills out an “assumption questionnaire” to keep a record of the general consensus of opinion for the class as a whole
- Actual results are shown
- Students express themselves and evaluate the results
- Assumptions and real numbers are compared and discussed
Step 3 - Reflect and Evaluate
Reflection: conclusions from class discussion.
- Did any results surprise you?
- Were you aware of how much time you spend online?
- Would the results be similar for other age groups or generations?
- Why do we find internet use so engaging?
- Is the situation likely to alter in the future?
- Rating of media consumption in class: healthy or unhealthy?
Step 4 - Let's Share
Questionnaire can be shared with wider audiences, for example parents or other students, to increase the sample size and raise awareness across school community.
