Põlva Gümnaasium is a state high school established in 2016 . It is located in a small town called Põlva, which is situated in southeastern Estonia near the borders of Latvia and Russia. The school itself stands out being an almost zero-energy building. The school differs from other high schools by its highly modern environment as well as an innovative study system, which supports the development of students in the best ways. The school is student- friendly, modern and offers a safe environment.
Students are aged 15-19 and they come from the town of Põlva as well as other parts of Estonia. Students are energetic, social and eager to learn. The school provides students with opportunities to develop their knowledge, critical thinking and creativeness through numerous compulsory as well as optional subjects and extra-curricular activities.
This school are participants on the In Others' Shoes project and also the Thinking Otherwise project.
